Right now that we have that out of the way let’s continue with the current post.

Wordze actually does excel in one area but unfortunately that area has nothing whatsoever to do with keyword research or keyword analysis! Wordze it would appear is exceptionally good at robbing you of your money; here’s how wordze achieves that…

On par with most internet businesses wordze offers an apparent free trial run before you upgrade to the paid subscription. Now the difference between wordze and reputable marketing companies such as Adobe, Diskeeper and Zonealarm (to name just a few) wordze demands access to your cash before they’ll give you access to the free trial. Bottom line you must give them details of your credit card or your Paypal account.

In retrospect that should have been the first hint of something shady under foot because as just pointed out reputable businesses do not abide by such  practice!

Anyway there’s good reason that wordze demands access to your money before you can take their keyword research tool for a spin. That reason is none other than that…

They know that once you have gotten beyond the fancy web design, endorsement and glittering sales page and you’ve peeked under the hood and taken their vehicle for a test run you’ll be completely and throroughly unnderwhelmed!

In fact so unimpressed will you be that they must be pretty confident you most certainly won’t spring for the paid subscription they so desperately want you to sign up for. But the folks at wordze had and still have a contingency plan for that inevitable eventuality. They made sure that even if you cancelled your free trial before it was over you still got automatically upgraded into the full blown $38/month subscription!

This happened to me and I have since found out that it also happened to several other people (the truth is out there). So in reality this is how such a lousy keyword tool like wordze makes any money at all because it certainly wouldn’t on merit!

When you go to the wordze website you are immediately impressed by its beautiful and professional looking design. It is plain to see that the good folks at wordze spared no expense when it came to achieving high-end quality web design. They fully understood and appreciated the tried-and-proven dictum of successful cons which is that appearances truly count and none more so than first impressions!

That explains why the most successful conmen always camouflage themselves as polished aristocrats (of course they have to look and talk the part to successfully pull it off). Nobody after all, is going to assume that apparently rich Prince Herzog from Liebenstein in Europe could really be after their money!

Anyway back to wordze.

Oh wordze! Oh wordze! If only you had spent all that web design ka-ching on producing a better product (but I guess this way proved to be easier, cheaper and faster in attaining profits…well at least in the short run).

Just in case any doubts you may have had about wordze were not immediately dispelled when you landed on their Absolutely Amazing And Awesome (AAAA) homepage, then surely those glowing endorsements proudly emblazoned across the landing page by so-called Super Affiliates would do the trick! (Actually my research on wordze revealed just that. Several people were finally convinced to try out wordze on the basis of the super affiliate endorsements.)

So what do those so-called super affiliates get out of promoting wordze?

Well they are getting precisely what hundreds of those other affiliates who apparently can’t sing enough praises of wordze are getting…huge fat residual commissions!

Actually the super affiliates were most probably paid a handsome fee for their “unbiased” testimonial as well as a fatter commission than the average every day affiliate. But the bottom line is that people are endorsing wordze not because it is as good as they claim it to be but because they want their share of the spoils when the sales start ka-chinging in!

And perhaps the biggest irony about all this is that those very same affiliates don’t and wouldn’t use wordze even if they were heavily paid to (yes it is that bad)!

Wordze is not a new tool and in fact during my research covering this keyword tool I discovered reviews dating all the way back to 2006 (even then the reviews were a shameful hodge-podge of brown-nosed pieces). So what apparent advances, if any, has wordze made in four years?

Well as far as I can tell the software is as lousy now as it was then and the only improvement that the folks at wordze have made during that four year period is in their promotional and marketing efforts! I guess they have somehow convinced more marketers to promote and peddle teir tool!

If you still feel curiously obligated or inexplicably compelled to take up their free trial don’t whine that I didn’t warn you when you get slapped with a $38/month bill (may be higher by now) despite your cancelling the trial within the alloted timeframe!

But if you are desperate for good keyword research tools but cannot afford to pay your arm or leg, then why not try the following excellent free resources:

Yes! You read right I said wordze is a dud of a keyword research tool! Anyway before I go into more details about that let me expand a little on my beef about paid keyword tools in general.

I am not a big fan of paid keyword research tools because truth be told most of what the majority of them do can be had for free from Google and other like-minded websites (of which incidentally there are a good number of). Having said that though, it is only fair that I throw in the miniscule caveat that admittedly certain keyword research related functions can only be had through paid keyword tools.

It is always important to know how a particular keyword campaign is going. Is it doing well, stuck in the mud or perhaps even inexplicably slipping backwards? In other words are you getting positive or negative results from your keyword research campaign!

Okay for the purposes of this article (well at least this paragraph) we are going to assume that keyword research conducted has the goal of attaining excellent placement on the SERPs rather than being used for PPC (pay per click) advertising.

Anyway the whole point about organic search based keyword research is that you wish to get your website on page one of Google and that of the other search engines. Obviously to go about the business of fine tuning your keyword research to such an end, you must know whether your website is actually making any headway up the search engine indexes.

 To do that you obviously need to know where your website is located on the search engine indexes for a given particular keyword. Now accomplishing such a task manually can be very daunting because some keywords are so competitive they boast millions of listings.

Google usually only bothers to show the first 100 pages of listings on its index for a highly competitive keyword but believe me going through those 100 pages manually is still a very cumbersome task! So in my book if I have to shell out $38/month for the mother-of-all-keyword tools (as its many supporters would have us believe) then I at least expect the dratted tool to be able to tell me where I rank on the search engine indexes for any keyword I’m optimizing for!

Now there are actually keyword research tools (far cheaper than wordze) that will actually tell you where on the search engine indexes your website can be found for any given keyword that you’re optimizing for!

In other words accept that you are a gatecrasher in an already overly crowded party! Okay now with that behind us let’s see how you can go about even your odds in this particular game.

So here are the things you will need to make money on the internet:

Well here’s the good news first! You can get your very own free web presence (well almost) and still make money online. Now that caveat of “almost” means that there are a few strings attached to having a free web presence; namely that you have to put up with Ads from the people who so kindly donated the “free web presence” out of the goodness of their hearts.

Okay you need not be a genius to figure out that having somebody else’s Ads liberally sprinkled throughout your sales message is certainly going to affect your bottom line by distracting your potential buyers.

But truth be told not all free web presences will suffocate your internet business ventures and aspirations with such irritating Ads. Examples of these relatively go-easy free web presences include:

·         Blogger

·         WordPress (not the self-hosted but the one found at wordpress.com)

·         Squidoo

To mention but a few of the available free web presence options out there. However even though these free web presence hosts may not plaster your online efforts with unsolicited advertising they do have other restrictions which include 1) The type of content you may host 2) The type of Ads you may run etc.

But this article is not per se about free web presences so if you decide to choose that route then it is up to you to do your due diligence to determine the pros and cons of such an approach!

Huh? Yah I know that made you do a double take! It took me by surprise too but it actually makes a lot of sense. Unless you are a new comer who is very savvy about internet marketing then it is not in your interest to pretend to be an expert in the game.

Why?

Because most of your target audience probably know more about making money online than you do!

You see here’s the thing, most of the people buying those ubiquitous how to make money online courses and ebooks are internet business newbies (and the not so new) who are desperate to find that elusive holy grail product that will actually show them how to make bucket loads of cash with minimal to no effort at all!

Such a product generally doesn’t exist but then that’s not the point of this article either. But the point I’m trying to get across here is that those folks to whom you’re trying to peddle your apparently brand new, revolutionary make money online course know it for the fake that it is!

Why?

Because they’ve been there, done that and also as I previously mentioned…they know more than you!

So what about the people who are completely new to the whole internet business thing, how do you get your grubby hands on such valuable web traffic?

Well there’s your next big hurdle. You won’t be able to get organic web traffic from the search engines for a very long time because it just doesn’t happen that way anymore (search engines have algorithms to determine and control the ascent of new websites or blogs up their indexes).

And neither will you be able to purchase such desirable web traffic because to get the exposure that you need will require you to fork over a fortune just to be on a competitive footing with the big players who can afford to pay $7.00 per click!

As I put pen to paper, or should I more correctly say, fingertip to keystroke, as of typing this very next character I have yet to formulate a title for this article. Rambling readily springs to mind and since it has no significant SEO value or eyeball attracting worth I hesitate to designate it as such. Okay now that we have clarified that little issue let’s get down to the business of this ramble. Okay here’s the thing. It has been a good considerable while since I have posted to this internet business blog of mine. Actually truth be told it has been a while since I have done much of anything with this blog; when I say anything I mean stuff like SEO, marketing and other little details one might expect to crop up in the everyday dealings with an online marketing business.

But here’s the truth and nuttin’ but the whole truth!

Having become somewhat disillusioned with the internet business world (to be more accurate the internet business “field” as opposed to “world”, seeing as the phrase internet business literally encompasses all transactions online) I decided to remove my expertise to other less competitive and mercurially more rewarding fields. Another factor that also influenced my decision was the Seo-battering this blog underwent somewhat akin to a small frigate adrift in the unforgiving embrace of a tsunami. Put simply I was tired of being given the slap-around by Google and ilk!

So as I just mentioned earlier I removed my skills to greener and easier pastures! Besides it was a definite win-win situation for me. I no longer felt compelled to divulge my hard-earned (through experience) SEO and marketing secrets. Better to use them in an unwary and more forgiving (and at the same time more giving (ka-ching wise) market!

A long the line I have revealed many a secret that goes contrary to popular flow. Some has drawn ridicule and scorn but almost invariably I have been proven right time and time again. Unfortunately and fortunately for me I am a lousy salesman and because of that my advice has often gone unheeded by those who need it the most…THE GULLIBLE NEWBIE!

But as we all well know the newbie just can’t resist the hype. Anyway if you were ever fortunate enough to have viewed my video on keyword research then I hope you got the intended message which was to teach people the proper way to conduct keyword research FOR FREE! Well all in all I’m thankful that most marketers never too my keyword research methods seriously, not because they were wrong, but because I was divulging highly lucrative information for free!

Well, not anymore! Recent Google changes (the so-called Mayday Update) now lead me to believe that this blog is worth a lot more than I thought it was! Time then to get serious, discard the old, password lock the valuable, and rewrite the homepage as I have been intending to for a very long time!

Oh and also make a point of writing at least one article or post once a week. Now how hard can that be huh?

Oh and on a final note if you have not checked out my keyword video you may want to do so right away (it was thanks to the very same methodology laid out in that video that I bagged a highly lucrative yet easy to dominate keyword) before I actually get round to password sealing it!  

It goes without question that anybody who is even half serious can find a slew of several good webhost companies sprinkled all across the internet but when it comes down to looking for webhosts that excel, believe me when I say that’s an entirely different situation altogether.

Fine then let’s proceed to identify those factors that differentiate a fantastic webhost from another that amounts to nothing more than the merely good! Ultimately the issue boiled down to the question of whether and if so what percentage of people really gave a toss about what time you woke up or what you may have had for breakfast?

However these days much in part due to the advent and rise of social media, a witty well-crafted post could attract a tsunami of web traffic to your young blog. And in case your webhosting plan happens not to accommodate such bandwidth use, after that your blog will crash as a result of the deluge of traffic!

Yet again, a number of webhosting companies boast “unlimited bandwidth” but you will discover very few that really deliver on this kind of claim without adding on some jacked-up fee!

However it’s better to have such largess at our disposal than not eh? Having said that never let email number availability function as the deciding factor for choosing one webhost over the next. Fact is any and every half-decent webhost will give you way more email addresses than you could possibly ever need!

Since I started my internet business journey I have had the pleasure (or if I am to be truly honest, in more cases than not I believe the term displeasure is more applicable) of having hosted my various websites and blogs on a number of different webhosts. Okay so the idea is not to name any names but lemme confess right off the bat I may not uphold such a noble promise. Anyway whatever the case I intend to give a telling account of my webhosting experience (or more correctly, webhost nightmares!).

Without pulling any punches or holding back let me just state that my first webhost was a downright rip-off! Even thinking about them now makes me bristle! Anyway this particular webhost in question set me back the rather princely sum of $25 every month as webhosting dues for what can diplomatically be described as less than stellar hosting services that consisted of virtually non-existent features to speak of at all!

And as for customer support! Well let’s just say that this particular webhost didn’t believe in such a ridiculous notion! They existed for one reason and reason alone and that was (and still is) to drain the pockets of gullible naïve suckers of which I used to be one of $25 / month. As things turned out, when all is said and done, I ended up paying that mother-of-all-leecher webhost $600 for a scanty 2 years of webhosting!

Okay the thought may have crossed your mind how did I ever…nay…how could I possibly have ever gotten myself in such a bind? Well I was new at the whole internet business thing and really didn’t know jack and was of the foolish and very naïve opinion that fellow marketers were out to help me not drain my wallet. With that kind of mindset I ended up hosting with this 25-dollars-a-month webhost on the advice of a internet marketing guru whose ebook and course I had paid for. Of course it is unnecessary for me to add that my payment was through her affiliate link of course.

Actually an interesting aside here is that for the two years that I hosted with that leecher webhost (in other words during that period when I was throwing away good money after the bad) I actually promoted that marketing guru’s ebook! But once I found out how she directed me into the arms of such a ripoff webhost I stopped promoting her ebook and internet business course like a hot potato despite the fact I was making some good money from commissions on account of sales through my affiliate link.

So yes, I do remember that at the beginning of this ramble I stated that I wouldn’t mention any names but I think that it is also fair for you to remember that I included a small caveat which noted that I probably wouldn’t stick to my word. However having done a Google search and found that this webhost still exists I feel that I am left no other choice but to name names!

If you surf over to their webpage the first thing that will strike you is that their homepage looks rather spammy. Another notable feature about this webhost’s homepage is that they have no mention of webhosting features and neither do they detail out the various web hosting options or indeed how much webhosting is going to cost. The only mention of their price (still $25/month) is at the end of your sign-up almost as though it were an afterthought.

But of course the location of the pricing was no afterthought it was very carefully planned. The mention of price occurs after you have completed signing up for their webhosting, that is to say, in other words after you have given them access to funds for your very first month of web hosting!

There’s no doubt in my mind that it is a relatively simple matter to find plenty of good web hosting services festooned all across the web finding what in essence qualifies as an excellent webhost, well that is an entirely different matter all together.

So the very first aspect in ascertaining a merely good webhost from an excellent webhosting service is by isolating and distinguishing those features characteristic of an excellent webhost form the average hosting service that merely qualifies as good. With that said let’s first identify the typical features of your everyday average “good” webhost:
