Originally I had titled this post with the following headline:  “Do You Kiss Always, Sometimes Or Often?” but I decided to change it because not only did it defeat the purpose of this post it was way too cryptic.  That out of the way, I must confess that I lean towards being a tad long winded with respect to my article writing and I tend to meander off into tangents that often lose the thread of the article’s relevancy.

And as if that wasn’t bad enough I frequently use unnecessarily long and offbeat words where common short words would do just as well, or probably better!

Oooops! Speaking of which, there I go again…sigh, old habits certainly die hard!

Actually I inserted this waffling preamble to highlight this issue of being longwinded as opposed to brief and to the point, which as mentioned before, is a crime I am most certainly guilty of, but which I intend to change because it is counter-productive to successful internet marketing!

The (KISS) Keep It Simple Stupid Principle!

May be you have heard of the KISS Principle, but if you haven’t then it certainly is high time you did because trust me, it will radically improve your conversions!

KISS stands for Keep It Simple Stupid and though you may be slightly offended by the “Stupid” part of the principle’s name it does make it easier to remember!

Generally it is a good idea to keep things as straightforward and simple as possible, because the simpler the explanation then the higher the likelihood that the recipient will be able to follow those instructions accurately!

Another very good reason for keeping things simple is because in this increasingly accelerating fast-paced world most of us are already overwhelmed by the amount of information we have to deal with on a daily basis. Without a doubt the internet has put an amazing treasure trove of data at our fingertips, but unfortunately that bounty of data is a mixed bag of the good, the bad and the downright ugly. That means that in spite of the amazing advances achieved so far in the universe of online Search we still have to spend much more time than we really ought to sifting through data to isolate that which is truly relevant to us.

It goes without saying that if you are in the habit of writing clear concise articles that actually help your readers then before you know it you will have a cult of adoring followers. Do the opposite and the only thing that’s going to bother visiting your blog is the search engine spider!

Keeping It Simple So Your Internet Business Audience Will Love You!

As I just mentioned most of us today are hampered by an excess of information and this situation is perhaps more exaggerated when it comes to internet marketing. How come? Because the internet business and internet marketing field is an extremely competitive and crowded one that becomes more so with each passing day! And unfortunately way too many marketers have responded to this situation by resorting to all manner of shady tactics, over-blown hype and downright lies in order to make the sale.

The consumers on their part (such as newbie marketers who wish to learn how to start and maintain a successful internet business) have become much more resistant to advertising and are typically wary of traditional marketing overtures like sales copy designed to get them to buy the overly abundant internet business courses, internet marketing reports or what-have-you that are peppered across the internet.

And who can blame them?

There is so much junk out there packaged in enticingly beautiful wrap (sales copy) that succeeds in getting the wannabe marketer to purchase but unfortunately falls extremely short on delivery! This fact explains the extremely high failure rate of prospective online marketers, and those who do persevere (despite owning a growing library of worthless marketing reports) have a greater sense of urgency to find relevant information that actually works! Having been burned more times than they’d like to remember such marketers from then onwards are typically super cautious before ever buying another marketing-related product.

By then, the only thing that will convince those jaded world-weary newbie marketers to purchase yet another internet business course or internet marketing tool, is if they are confident that this time round your course will actually deliver! The best way to convince them is by giving them a free preview (diluted version) of the course proper, but that said, you will still have to convince them to sign up for the free preview. But not to worry because that is easily accomplished! Make sure you have well written, relevant and useful posts or articles on your blog and I assure you that will get them to sign up.

How To Make Your Articles KISS Certified (Reader Friendly)

1. Remember people tend to scan online thus you should aim to have plenty of white space interspersed around your text. Long blocks of uninterrupted text appear challenging and frighten people off!

2. Use bullet points as much as possible.

3. Use headlines liberally sprinkled in your articles especially long ones.

4. Don’t feel shy to throw in an image here and there; it acts as a kind of mental relief on your reader’s subconscious.

5. Vary the length of your paragraphs.

6. Try to make your sentences short, concise and to the point (errr…unlike mine. I’m still working on improving myself, so bear with me).

7. Use common and simple words; you are not aiming for a Pulitzer Prize here you know!

8. Try to make your headline unique, engaging and magnetizing as opposed to stylishly cryptic!

9. Make sure your articles are well formatted and spell checked for errors. Nothing puts off a prospect like a poorly written article littered with errors!

10. And last of all KISS!
