Defragmenting your disk is nice, just don’t do it too often. Maybe every 90-180 days. Also, I always run Disk Cleanup or Ccleaner before a defragment, get junk off first. It will defragment faster.

I defrag using Diskeeper09, the latest version is even better than the previous ones. It runs real smooth in the automatic mode and works very efficiently even on volumes with low free space. Definitely a better alternative to the Windows program.
