The Biggest Mistake Most Marketers Make Is The Frenzied Pursuit Of More & More Web Traffic!

Internet Business Secret Number OneMore Web Traffic Won’t Make You More Money!

Any serious internet marketer knows that web traffic is the lifeblood of an internet business.

Without traffic your internet marketing plans will go nowhere fast! After all if nobody is visiting your site or blog how are you going to make money?

That would explain why 95% of marketers spend most of their online marketing efforts trying to get more and more web traffic!

But this is where the average internet marketer differs from the top 5% who actually make money online.

The top names in internet business marketing are well aware that it is not the amount of web traffic you get that counts…it is the quality of that web traffic!

After all getting a flood of web traffic that does not convert into money is worse than getting no traffic because it means that you must have spent time, money and effort to attract that web traffic.

And time spent on one activity is time subtracted from another activity! Therefore it follows that if you are spending all your time on activities that are not paying off then you are wasting both your time and effort!

Don’t forget there is a very good reason why they do say that TIME IS MONEY!

In fact in my Myth Buster Report I will show you a simple webpage that averaged about 10 visits a day makes more money than a site that got half a million visitors in a day!

Internet Business Secret Number TwoA Huge Subscriber List Will Not Make You Rich!

I guess you have probably heard the expression THE MONEY IS IN THE LIST!

Well if you haven’t here’s a brief explanation…

The List refers to people who sign up to your newsletter or subscription. The whole point of The List is to have future access to people who visit your website or blog. And why would you want to do that?

Because all savvy marketers know that it is indeed the rare individual who purchases a product the very first time that they come across it. And knowing how easy it is to be distracted online, savvy marketers overcome that hurdle of first-exposure woes by getting their visitors to allow the marketer to contact them in the future!

Yes…you guessed it! They get that consent through The List…hence the saying the money is in the list. Because from then onwards that marketer can contact his/her list with offers until such time that a subscriber decides to "delist" or unsubscribe!

But once again effective internet marketing is more than building a huge subscriber list much in the same way that it is more than the pursuit of tons of web traffic!

Sure! There’s no denying that if you have a subscriber list of 100,000 you can make a lot of money.

I mean let’s say for example that you recommend to your list that they buy a product of yours priced at $77, if just 1% of them follow your advice and do purchase the product, you would be $7,700 richer!

But once again it boils down to time spent versus returns…or in more common market jargon Return of Investment (ROI). How long, after all, will it take you to build a list that size if you are just starting out?

Wouldn’t it make much more sense to build a smaller yet more targeted list that is far more effective?

Besides here’s the real shocker about those huge lists. They are barley functional!

A huge majority of the people on those lists subscribed with a fake email address for only one reason and that was to grab this or that freebie!

Another aspect about those mega-lists is that they are largely ineffective for the simple fact that there is way too much cross-over pollution! What do I mean by cross-over pollution?

Cross-over is the term I use to describe an individual who belongs to multiple lists.

Once you have been internet marketing for sometime you’ll realize what I mean because sooner than later you’ll discover that you are the unproud member of multiple lists that routinely send you the very same offers!

Ever experienced an internet marketing mega launch?

They are characterized by hundreds of affiliates promoting the same launch to the same people who just so happen to belong to different lists…now that is cross-over pollution!

The effect result of cross-over pollution is to annoy the list member. Many subscribers actually unsubscribe because of cross-over pollution. In fact these days a good number of subscribers immediately unsubscribe once they have gotten their freebie!

Bottom Line:  Those huge lists are really only effective at impressing newbies to internet marketing with their size!

One of the really great aspects of affiliate marketing is the exceptionally high profit margins.

In fact once you have been internet marketing for a while you can cut those minimal expenses all the way down to zero!

Cons of Affiliate Marketing:  The downside to this type of internet marketing is that since the entry level is so low the competition runs in the high thousands and is very fierce!

Also if you happen to be just starting out on your internet marketing career then you are at quite a disadvantage with respect to veteran internet marketers who know the ins-and-outs of the internet business model you intend to pursue.

Another downside of affiliate marketing is the fact that quite a number of affiliate programs are deliberately set up to cheat you of your commissions!

2. Internet Business Type: Blogging To Make Money

Rating: ★★★★☆

Pros of Blogging:  Once you’ve got your blog set up then maintaining it is a simple matter of adding new content! Unlike a traditional or static website you do not need to know any markup or coding langauge to maintain your blog.

This is a far cry from a normal website which requires that at the very least you to know a bare minimum of  HTML and CSS (type of markup language).

Failing that you will need a webmaster to maintain your website which can become quite expensive because any time you wish to add new content you’ll need the skills of your webmaster! Another huge advantage of blogs is that they also eliminate the need for a web designer.

A professional looking website plays a very important part in the success of any internet business and typically a good web design could cost you several hundred dollars if not thousands!

So What Is Blogging?

Blogging is simply  the activity of adding new content to your blog. Which brings us to the next obvious question.

What Is A Blog?

A blog is what is known as a mobile website.

A mobile website differs from a traditional website (static website) in that the content of its homepage changes whenever new content is added.

That is one of the most characteristic trademarks of a blog, a constantly updating homepage.

Note that this isn’t strictly true anymore because these days you can customize your blog so that the home page is actually a static webpage remains constant like that of a traditional website…this page that you are reading is an example of a blog whose homepage is a static webpage.

Another advantage of blogging is that search engines tend to favour blogs because of the simple fact that they can more easily locate fresh content. And search engines by the way just love new content!

The other big advantage that blogs have over normal websites is that they enable you to interact in a two-way fashion in a manner that a normal website simply cannot!

Thus, visitors to your blog can leave comments and questions relating to your internet business.

This is actually a very powerrful and priceless system for any internet marketing business because it in effect it is a very quick and easy way to get valuable feedback from your customers.

You can then use that feedback to improve your marketing campaign!

Cons of Blogging:

From an internet business point of view a blog’s design (also know as its theme) generally has far too many distractive elements.

In other words a blog has way too many features that can distract your potential buyers from actually making the purchase!

Another somewhat irksome feature of blogging is that you need to regularly update your blog if it is not to become stale and boring and thus drive away your loyal readers you’ve spent so much time and effort attracting!

Summary of Pros & Cons of Blogging To Make Money

Pros:

Blogs are easy to maintain!

Blogs rise up the search engines very rapidly!

It is easy to drive web traffic to blogs!

It’s easy and cheap to get a professional look with a blog!

No need for you to know coding language required to maintain a normal website!

Two-way interactivity of blogging allows for invaluable feedback system!

Blogs are great for capturing leads (building a subscriber list which is the backbone of making money online)!

Cons:

Blogs have poor conversions rate compared to squeeze pages because they typically have many distractive elements!

After a while (a year or so) blogging can become tedious unless you absolutely love your topic!

Conclusion of Blogging To Make Money : If you know what you are doing you can easily make money blogging!

The plain fact of the matter is that blogs have all the strengths of normal websites and none of their weaknesses!

So naturally a marketer with the right kind of blog will always outperform the marketer without!

All-in-all blogs make for excellent marketing tools and are very accessible even for the complete beginner!

It is little wonder that all of the biggest internet business marketers use blogs as their marketing platform!

3. Internet Business Type: Membership Sites

Rating: ★★★★★

Pros of A Membership Site:  The most precious commodity for any internet marketing business is web traffic. And not just any web traffic mind you but the highly targeted and relevant kind of traffic!

Thus it would make perfect sense for anybody in internet marketing to hang onto any highly targeted and relevant web traffic they get as if their life depended on it!

The Law of The Vital Few:  have you ever heard of the law of the vital few? It also goes by the name of the 80/20 Law or Pareto’s Law.

Put simply this law states that a minority (20%) of your efforts are going to be responsible for the majority (80%) of effects and results!

And when considered in the context of web traffic this means that only 20% of your visitors are going to be responsible for generating 80% of your income! With that in mind I am sure you are beginning to see how devastatingly effective a membership site can be as an internet business or a way to make money online.

Membership Sites Make Money On A Recurring Basis

The membership site is the perfect internet marketing business model patterned around The Law of The Vital Few or the 80/20 Law!
